School Council

You can engage in your child’s learning at home and school in many ways. The school council provides advice on school matters and helps to strengthen the important relationship between schools, families and their communities. The council includes family members, school staff and community members.

Fossil Hill's School Council

  • Help improve student learning and school effectiveness
  • Enhance communication among parents and/or guardians, administrators, teachers and children in the school community
  • Engage the community and the school with fun events
  • Fundraising: ALL funds go back into the school to buy books, classroom supplies, technology, support trips etc.

  • School council is made up of any/all interested parents/guardians, the school administration, teachers and students.

  • We help families see that your children’s education is important to everyone.
  • We are an open discussion group who listens to various sides of important issues.
  • We keep the dialogue open, judge nobody.

  • School council meetings offer a chance to see the education system from the inside.
  • It’s a place for your voice to be heard.
  • It doesn’t require a lot of time to make a significant impact.
  • It's another way to show your children you are involved in their learning.
